Interest

I have become aware that I am not interesting. Some of my thoughts today: I am not interesting, the things that I do are not interesting, and I have to keep finding new ideas to engage my attention, otherwise I am lost.

From now on, I am going to leave my revisions in my posts, because I want the world to see what were my thoughts in writing this.   to see my basest thoughts unrefined words.

New Application Out!

Loaded coin and dice is an android application that lets you cheat on games that need a coin or a dice. You can also use it as a legitimate coin or dice. You can find it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.timeactive.loadeddice.

College

One thing I wish I did for myself - if I could go back in time and start over as a freshman in high-school - is look up essay prompts for college applications and begin thinking and writing about these prompts. Starting early will give you more time to think, reflect, and revise your essays. Of course, the prompts are different every year, but it's easy to accommodate college essays to many different prompts. Here is one of them from CommonApp this year:

Think about an incident or time when you experienced failure.  How did it affect you, and what lessons did you learn?

When you have a lot of time and no pressure to consider this prompt, you will be able to expand beyond what a normal college applicant would say. You may realize how bad you are at writing, but that's why you are doing this before it becomes a necessity - to be prepared.

UT Austin 4

For incoming Longhorn freshmen, here are some summer research opportunities and programs:
http://cns.utexas.edu/research-experience/undergraduate-research/summer-research-academy

Also, you should apply to the summer bridge program even if you aren't "invited". I wasn't invited, but I got waitlisted (and then denied). I am aware of one person who didn't get invited and got it, but I don't know a lot of people, so I am sure there are others. Here is the link to that for all of you rising seniors: http://www.utexas.edu/enrollment-management/programs/summer-bridge

UT Austin 2

Longhorn Startup is another exciting opportunity at UT. It is a set of classes that fosters and encourages the growth of new companies. Students across all majors can take these courses as long as they have a startup idea - a problem they want to solve and a way to solve it. It may be that you're idea is only in its infant stages, and that's okay! This program will help you understand what's feasible, what's not, and will get you to hone your idea into something that is effective on a larger scale. This program will also work on your sales pitch and will connect you with the resources and people necessary to achieve your goal. Mark Cuban played some role in this too. Here's the application: https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&hl=en&formkey=dHl6cmxpbDhKdUxiM3p5bE9oUmVvV1E6MQ#gid=0

Here's their website: http://longhornstartup.com/

This will hopefully be helpful to me, because I want to make applications that reach a greater audience. I've made Android vocabulary apps and calculators. I have a general understanding of how to make a game, but it takes a motivated team and a lot of time to make something beautiful.

Although I live in Dallas, it is convenient to get to and from Austin by bus. And here is the website for that:

The fare is $10-$20, really cheap.
